Every Vietnamese person looking after us tried their very best to be hospitable and attentive under very difficult circumstances provided by their tour operators. However, we spent most of the morning before the overnight trip to Sapa trying to get some firm arrangements about pick up times, hotel stays and group numbers. This was quite challenging and again we had to rely on a member of our fantastic hotel staff to translate details over the phone. Our luxury vans/buses were anything but luxurious.
